Ceramic Pillows:Why did Ancient Chinese People Like to Use Them When Sleeping?

For us, sleep is very important. If we don’t sleep well at night, we won’t have energy the next day.

To sleep better, people have worked hard on bedding. From long ago until now, this has been a big topic, and people keep getting better at it.

For regular folks like us, a pillow is a nice bedding item. It’s not expensive but helps us sleep better.

We think that softer pillows are more comfortable. After a long day, a soft pillow feels very nice.

But when we look at pillow history, we see that ancient people didn’t use soft pillows. They liked ceramic pillows for almost a thousand years.

So, why did ancient people like hard ceramic pillows when we don’t?

When we learn about the history of ceramic pillows, we see it was to help women in their daily lives.

Origin

History shows the first pillows came from the Mesopotamian civilization around 7000 BC. But we don’t know what kind of pillows they used.

Ancient Egyptians also had pillows, and they even had soft ones. But because of where they lived, soft pillows didn’t become popular. They used stone pillars to keep bugs out of their ears, mouths, and noses while…
