How Would the Axis Powers Divide Their Power?

If Germany had beaten the Soviet Union, who would Hitler target next? And how would the Axis powers divide up their control?

These aren’t just “what if” history questions.

Back in the day, the Axis really did stress over how to split the whole world.

In August 1941, just over a month after the Soviet-German war started, Hitler thought the Soviet Union’s defeat was just a matter of time. So, he told the military to focus on making stuff for the navy and air force.

Even though Hitler didn’t say it out loud, it’s pretty easy to guess his next target was Britain.

But here’s the thing, Hitler didn’t plan on wiping out the Soviet Union at first.

He wanted a victory like the one over France, where German troops would take over up to the Archangelsk-Astrakhan line in the west.

That’s the area west of the A-A line.

Hitler didn’t really care about the Soviet Union’s Asian part to the east of the A-A line.

He thought once Stalin was pushed back to Asia, Churchill would totally lose the will to keep fighting.

Since I was young, I have always enjoyed reading biographies of historical figures, especially those about World War II, including documentaries and novels.
