The Presidential Murder
In 1963, to raise funds for the Democratic campaign, Kennedy and his wife visited Dallas, Texas.
Crowds of citizens welcomed the president.
In a gesture of approachability, Kennedy had the transparent bulletproof glass removed from his car.
Unexpectedly, as the car turned onto Elm Street, two gunshots startled everyone.
The shots came from somewhere on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository.
An old Italian Carcano rifle fired twice, hitting Kennedy in the throat and head.
Over an hour later, Kennedy was pronounced dead.
Within a mere hour, police captured Oswald, who had fired from upstairs.
The police believed that with interrogation, the assassination would soon be solved.
