One reason why Japan withdrew from World War II
It was at 8:00 AM on August 6, 1945, that three B-29 Superfortress bombers arrived over Hiroshima, Japan, ready to execute an event that would be etched into the annals of human history: the first nuclear weapon air raid in human history.
The pilots had heard about the formidable power of the atomic bomb, as their superiors had laid out a strict “evacuation plan” before departure. The plan, in essence, emphasized rapid escape, as no one knew how quickly the shockwave and burst of radioactive dust from the bomb would occur.
Thus, after dropping “Little Boy,” the faster these planes fled, the better — it was the most dreadful bomb ever used by mankind.
At 8:12 AM, the crew of the plane carrying the atomic bomb donned their goggles, feeling extremely nervous. Three minutes later, the pilot followed the set procedure, pressing the button to open the bomb bay doors, and in the next instant, the atomic bomb plummeted from the sky.
