Why Do Diabetics Need to Inject Insulin Every Day?

Diabetes is a common long-lasting disease worldwide. It happens when the body can’t use insulin properly or doesn’t make enough insulin, causing high blood sugar.

When diabetes gets worse, high blood sugar for a long time can harm blood vessels and nerves, leading to damage in the eyes, feet, heart, kidneys, and nerves. This can cause problems like heart disease, blindness, kidney failure, and amputations, which are very harmful to health.

There are two main types of diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2. Both genes and environment can cause diabetes. Both types often run in families. Type 2 diabetes is mostly caused by bad lifestyle choices, like eating too much and not exercising enough.

Type 1 diabetes usually starts in teenagers. It happens when the body’s own immune system attacks and destroys insulin-making cells in the pancreas. This leads to high blood sugar and diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is rare in China, with less than 1% of diabetes cases. Symptoms include drinking a lot, peeing a lot, eating a lot, and losing weight.

Type 2 diabetes usually starts in adults. It’s mainly caused by the body not responding to insulin properly or not making enough insulin. Type 2 diabetes makes up more than 95% of diabetes cases in China. Common symptoms include being overweight, especially around the…
