The U.S. Exhibits Absolute Confidence in Military Technology

In 2023, the U.S. arms trade amounted to $238 billion, making it the world’s leading nation in arms exports.

It has been said that the U.S. is the largest arms dealer in the world.

The U.S. sells weapons globally, but isn’t there a fear of technology leakage?

1. Why the U.S. is Not Concerned About Technology Leakage

During the Vietnam War, a U.S. CH-47 helicopter was captured by Vietnam intact and could be flown as soon as it was refueled.

After China obtained this CH-47 helicopter, the Chinese military praised its superior performance.

Despite efforts to study and dismantle the CH-47, China ultimately failed to replicate it.

The CH-47 helicopter, a transport helicopter, was then the strongest in the U.S. Army, not only widely used but also technologically far ahead of other military powers.

For instance, the CH-47 features a tandem rotor design, eliminating the need for a tail boom and saving engine power.
